Margaret Hobson will present our first Lincoln at the Library lecture in 2015 — please join us!  Hobson has researched the 44th Indiana Civil Regiment extensively and has published three books about this brave group of men from Northeast Indiana.   On February 22, she will share what she has learned about the first commander of the Regiment, Colonel Hugh B. Reed.  Before the war, Reed operated Fort Wayne’s first drugstore at the Landing and Calhoun Street.  During the war, he fought in the battles of Fort Donelson and Shiloh.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Allen County Public Library.
